P.S.6. Center for Film + Television
Our Vision
The P.S. 6 Center sits at the intersection of arts, commerce, community, and history. The 1891 former schoolhouse has been rehabilitated after almost 50 years of abandonment.
The top floor is a full-service film, television, and photo facility with three state-of-the-art soundstages with cycloramas, photo studios, and production spaces. A full grip and electric inventory will be available to rent in-house.
The other floors offer studio and event space for short or long term rentals, and multipurpose rooms for community events and programming.
The newly refurbished historic schoolhouse features all the modern amenities such as high-speed internet and eco-friendly heating and cooling systems, but housed within a structure that evokes the past through the painstaking preservation of original materials.
The vision for the P.S. 6 Center is to retain the spirit of its origin as a place of learning and sharing. It will spur economic activity through its one-stop shop production house, provide practical spaces for work, while also offering classes and training opportunities to the public.

Our Beginning
P.S. 6 Center for Film and Television is located at 1 Liberty Street in Newburgh, NY in the fondly remembered former P.S.6 Liberty Street School. After nearly 20 years of founding and running creative businesses in Brooklyn, NY partners Thomas Dodd and Pearl Son-Dodd founded P.S.6 in Newburgh with a vision of bringing the film and television industry to the Hudson Valley region.

“Film and Television is our future, it creates countless jobs and anchors the community with a creative and entrepreneurial spirit.”
— THOMAS DODD, FOUNDER
